Sri Lanka have turned the tables and have sealed the 3-match series They would now be looking to whitewash the best side in T20Is in their own backyard. Pakistan, on the other hand, will be looking to give their fans something to cheer about and will play for pride in the 3rd and final T20I of the series. That match will be played at the very same venue on Wednesday, 9th October. That match will begin at Local GMT.
Here's all you need to know about the series. The hosts' disappointing World Cup campaign brought about considerable changes in both the team as well as the board.
Although Sarfaraz has managed to hold on to his spot in the team as captain, Misbah-ul-Haq has replaced Mickey Arthur as the team's head coach. Many veterans have been shown the door as far as white-ball cricket is concerned and the Sri Lanka series will offer the likes of Iftikhar Ahmed, Mohammad Rizwan and Mohammad Nawaz to put their credentials forward.
The Lankans, meanwhile, had whitewashed Bangladesh last month in a three-match ODI series but they will be without a string of big names during their stay in Pakistan. Stand-in skipper Lahiru Thirimanne was even struggling with a back problem ahead of the tour and that has put his participation in the first ODI under dark clouds.
They were also supposed to face-off at the ICC World Cup but that match was abandoned due to rain.
Although Pakistan will start as favourites for the series, the Lankans have a host of players in their roster who would be determined to prove a point.
