Comment The Syracuse Basketball team plays their 19th game of the season against Miami Thursday evening.
Inside The Loud House tells you how you can catch the game. Syracuse basketball looks to have finally turned the corner on a season that seemed destined for a NIT berth or worse. Now, the Orange in the midst of ACC play are heading into a stretch that will test if that is truly the case starting with a tough matchup against Miami FL at home.
Usually on paper this would be a must-watch ESPN event in primetime as these two programs are usually ranked in the Top 25 or close to it when they meet.
The matchups have been close, chippy, and some might say exhausting. This game could provide more of the same, minus the Top 25 part of it of course. Those losses outside of ACC play just make you grimace.
However, as we have seen in years past, the Hurricanes have played teams better in conference, specifically against teams that they know a little better.
This has led to much closer outcomes in ACC play.
This should scare the Orange as they have struggled to win games like that this season. Much like the Georgia Tech game, this game could be a trap game if the Syracuse basketball team overlooks what looks to be a crappy team.
Need proof? Look no further than a huge and historic win over No. Therefore, the Orange should come ready to play against a team looking for a nice signature win. Led by Tyus Battle, who has looked unstoppable of late, and Elijah Hughes who has been a godsend on offense, this team is finally rounding into shape.
Also, now that Frank Howard is starting to look like his old self, which the Orange desperately need, the Orange offense is once again clicking. If Oshae Brissett can continue to get inside with ease as he always does and actually convert a big if more shots than he misses, then this team will be dangerous for anyone on the schedule down the stretch in ACC play.
Miami may not be a great team this year, but they have talent.
They are led by 5-foot-7 point guard Chris Lykes who really knows how to score and distribute. If the Orange can force him into bad passes and shots inside then the Orange stand a good chance to win going away in this one. The Orange also need to look out for 6-foot big man Ebuka Izundu who can rebound the ball really well.
However, if the Orange fall into a bad shooting game or play laid back, this game could be tight and full of a lot of missed shots.
