How about it, fellow alumni First, I would like to thank Eddie for his perception of my track running. Also, he was accurate in his description of the track surface: it was made of cinders, sharp as can be. I recall one of the janitors, Sal, who would run over the track with a steam roller type vehicle to tighten it all up.

Valley Stream North High School

Burgess finished with 23 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 steals, and Winston with 22 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists. Suffolk falls to The Sharks hammered two out of state teams over the Thanksgiving weekend, and yesterday, ripped league rival Bronx CC to improve to on the season.

Mens Basketball Recruiting

Nassau Last year was a big year for Nassau CC. They were Region 15 Champions once again and fell in the Elite Eight at the Nationals, but repeating is always difficult at the Junior College level because rosters turns over so often.

It looks like this season is no exception.

  • Bulldogs Fall Short In Playoffs

After a shaky first game, the Lions have reeled off 7 straight wins, sweeping two games over the Thanksgiving weekend, and they are now breathing down the neck of arch rival Suffolk Community College in Section The Sharks are undefeated in league play and an incredible overall.

The catalyst for this season's Nassau team seems to be freshman Cheyenne Nettleton, who played for South Shore HS last season, but he is joined by some familiar names that are playing big roles for the Lions.

Jalen Burgess, a key player with Elmont's New York State Championship team, Dana King, who led Valley the Stream South program deep into the playoffs, and Patrick Gardner, who's Calhoun team registered 18 wins and a league title in his senior year, have all had big games and have put together impressive stat lines.

When do the two teams meet? Should be another great chapter in a great rivalry!

South Side Athletics

Nassau held them off, reponding with two Ty-ler Banks free throws and a three pointer by Cheyenne Nettleton, but Manhattan resumed their assalt, getting it back within 2 with remaining.

Nettleton finished with 20 points to lead the team, King had 17 and 4 steals, and both Gardner and Banks added Nettleton calmly knocked down both free throws with 23 seconds on the clock and this time, the points went unanswered and King added two more from the line and Nettleton another two to secure the victory.
