Gonzales, Louisiana scored three runs in the first inning and held on for a victory to go in pool play, leaving Dubuque County with a record. Dubuque County still had chance to move on, but Delaware defeated Massachusetts to claim second in the pool and advance to the semi-finals.

Needing to defeat West Fargo twice on Sunday, Dubuque County won the first game and then earned a win in the clincher.
In game two, West Fargo scored two runs in the top of the third, and Dubuque County tied the game with a pair of runs in the 4th. It would remain that way until the bottom of the 6th when with two outs, Jackson Bennett hit a ground-rule double to put Dubuque County in the lead at Sam Goodman, who came on in relief in the 5th inning, closed out the game to earn his second win of the day and third of the tournament.
He was named MVP of the tournament. Dubuque county will face Wilmington, Delaware at 9 a. Iowa time on Thursday, Braintree, Massachusetts at 6 p. The winner will advance to Saturday's championship vs. Mary's 6 to 0 and Lisbon edged North Linn The Bobcats defeated North Scott in Wednesday's quarterfinal round, and will now face Urbandale in the semi-finals. Western Dubuque scored a run in the first, then plated four in the 2nd inning.
North Scott scored its first run in the third, and that was matched by the Bobcats in the 4th to build a lead. The Lancers would tighten things up with a three-run fourth inning, but would not dent the scoreboard again.
Western Dubuque added an insurance run in the 7th before Cal Harris closed out North Scott to earn the complete-game victory.
The Bobcats will face Urbandale in the 4A semi-finals at 5 p. Friday Urbandale defeated Marshalltown The 1A and 2A semi-finals are today, with the 3A and 4A games tomorrow.
All four championship games will be played Saturday. This is the Bobcats 4th trip to the summer state tournament, and first since The Lancers are also making their fourth appearance at state. The 4th ranked and defending champion Blazers are seeking their 19th trip to state.
Wilton, which is ranked 5th in 2A, has five previous state tournament appearances, winning the title in its last trip back in Coverage will begin around tonight on and online at kdstradio. The winner will play in the state quarterfinals on Monday.

Tuesday's night we have 2A sub-state action as 4th ranked Beckman faces 5th ranked Wilton at Solon. You can listen to all the playoff action on or online at kdstradio. After a scoreless first inning, the Sailors plated five runs int the second on three hits, two errors, a walk and fielders choice.
Cascade would get one run back in the bottom of the second as Reid Rausch scored on a sacrifice-fly by Riley Reed. Cascade added two runs in the third inning.
Wil Rolling walked and scored on a hit by Brock Simon, who then scored on a wild pitch. Each team scored a run in the fourth, leaving Columbus with a lead.
Brock Simon got a one-out hit in the 5th and scored on a base hit by Gannon O'Brien to get Cascade within one. They would tie the game at 6 in the 6th as Reid Rausch scored his third run of the game, this time on a sacrifice fly by Derek Koppes.
Logan Otting had a lead-off hit in the 7th, then Columbus intentionally walked Blake Simon and Reid Rausch to load the bases and set up potential force-outs.
That plan didn't work as Haris Hoffman sent a grounder past the drawn-in infield to score Otting. The Cougars, now , will host Oelwein Saturday night in the district final. The Huskies defeated Jesup last night in Cascade. The Blazers took game one and won the nightcap Wednesday night in Farley.
In the opener, Beckman scored a run in the first and added three in the third inning to build a lead. The Bobcats responded with a 3-run fourth inning, but Beckman would add an insurance run in the 6th and hold on for the victory.
In the second game, Beckman put three on the board in the first, while Western Dubuque tallied a single run in the bottom of the second. The Blazers scored four runs in the fourth, and the Bobcats scored their second and final run of the game in the fifth.
